The Mystical Experience of Vision

The ancient sages were aware of the spiritual nature of vision. They tried to represent this concept through images, symbols, allegories and myths. The primary language of the brain is that of images as they can be understood by every human being throughout the world. No translations are needed, images communicate instantly, like our image reflected in a mirror. While hearing, touch, taste and smell allow us to perceive nearby things, sight allows us to instantly grasp very distant things. By analogy, the imagination, the fruit of the visual thought that occurs inside us, is able to reach much more distant and inaccessible territories to our realm of external senses. The imaginative faculty of the human being, when it merges with sounds, sensations and feelings, is able to produce a real energy wave that manifests itself at all levels of our existence, producing the fruits of our life.
